IT/ITES Special Economic Zone

We aim to create an SEZ accommodating major IT/ ITES companies. The SEZ will also have a special Start-Up Incubation Park which will be the first of its kind in the UT of J&K. The SEZ will aim to create 50000 technology services jobs in the medium term with scope for future expansion. The Tech SEZ will cater to the international market by providing services to customers based in distant lands such as North America and Europe, The tech services exports happening from this SEZ will drive in much-needed investments to the region. The Ministry of Electronics and IT will be critical in driving this initiative. The Ministry will have to form a high-powered committee that incentivizes and instructs top developers and IT firms to take this up.

The Medicity

The Medicity will comprise 2–3 Large Super Specialty Hospitals. Each hospital will have >500 doctors, 750+ beds, and > 20 super specialties. The hospitals will aim to serve both local and international patients. The Medicity will provide a launchpad for Kashmir to become a focal point for medical tourism. International patients from regions like the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa could get treated and recover in the salubrious climes of the valley. The Medicity should provide direct employment to roughly ten thousand people. Kashmiri doctors across the world can return home if such world-class facilities are available.

Education Hub

Kashmiri Pandits have been the forbearers of education in the valley. It is therefore natural that a large Education Cluster is set up. This will serve as a magnet for students from across J&K and North India. We will invite the 5 largest private universities to set up campuses in our Smart City. In addition to this government will also provide for the creation of an AIIMS, an NLU, an IIT/NIT, and a NID.

The education cluster will provide employment not just to the academics of the community but also to experienced professionals who want to share their industrial experience.

Environmental Friendly City

The focus will be on:

  • Insulated Walkways for winter months.
  • Cycling tracks and rentals.

Effective and highly functional public transportation

The development of Spiral Metro is critical as it makes public transportation accessible to all.
